BLM AGREES TO REVIEW GRAZING IMPACTS ON 341,140 ACRES

In response to a formal notice of intent to sue filed by the Center for Biological Diversity on 11-30-00, the Bureau of Land Management has agreed to review the impact of allowing livestock grazing on 341,140 acres of public land in Arizona. The review was required following the designation of 900 river miles of critical habitat for the loach minnow and spikedace, two imperiled minnows. The designation was ordered by a federal judge in a suit brought by the Center.
