Conservation Groups Ask Forest Service to Protect Key Southwest Rivers: San Francisco and Blue Rivers Threatened by Off-Road Vehicles

The proliferation of off-road vehicles (ORVs) has become a leading threat to the ecological integrity of public lands throughout the west. Many agencies, such as the Bureau of Land Management and the Forest Service are in the process of developing plans to decide where ORV use will be allowed on public lands.

Citizen involvement is crucial as these agencies make decisions that will impact our resources, and the Center is working closely with other organizations, agency officials and the public to create positive reforms. We encourage all concerned citizens to join in this effort to reduce damages associated with off-road vehicles, to protect public trust resources, and to secure recreational opportunities for quiet users.
